This mixture of different color split peas, rice, lentils, and ABC macaroni is a great starter of a soup base. This mix only gets better as you add your own vegetables, meats and spices. ABC soup mix is great for when the weather starts to turn cold and you want something warm and comforting to make. It is great for using left over roasts, chicken, and pork meat. Throw in your favorite root vegetables.  Add your own mix of spices to give it some heat or the comfort flavor of home. This is great to use for your family’s dinner meal rotation. This is also a wonderful product to store long term for family emergency food storage!
Directions:Â Rinse and sort 1 1/2 cups soup mix. Add to 2 quarts seasoned stock made from chicken, beef, ham or other meat. Chopped vegetables may be added if desired. Bring to a boil. Cover and simmer for about 90 minutes or until tender. Season as desired and serve.
